Customs seizes PHP366M worth of luxury vehicles in Makati

Customs officers seized PHP366 million worth of luxury vehicles at a warehouse operated by ACH High-End Motor Service Center in Makati City on Valentine's Day.

The seizure included high-end brands such as Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Lexus LC500, Bentley Bentayga, and others.

This operation followed another one the previous week which resulted in the seizure of PHP1.4 billion worth of luxury vehicles, marking an intensified crackdown on alleged vehicle smuggling in Metro Manila.

The raided warehouse is located at 489 J.P. Rizal St., Makati City, and was sealed by Customs officers accompanied by the Philippine Coast Guard's Task Force Aduana to verify importation documents for these vehicles.

Customs Intelligence Verne Enciso stated that a formal inventory will be conducted in the presence of barangay officials and storage representatives with 15 days given to submit necessary documents proving correct duties and taxes were paid.

Failure to present proper documentation within this period may result in charges under the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
