BOC destroys ₱3.26B worth of illicit vapes

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) is destroying approximately ₱3.26 billion worth of seized illicit vape products to combat smuggling and protect public health.

Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio stated that these destruction operations began on April 7, 2025, following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive.

The large-scale condemnation is taking place at waste facilities in Bulacan, including RCU Waste Collection Services and Barba Waste Management.

Over one million vape products have been destroyed since the ceremonial condemnation led by the President, with ongoing support from various agencies like the Philippine Army and Coast Guard.

These operations are mandated under Republic Act No. 10863 and Republic Act No. 11900 to ensure the destruction of prohibited goods and regulate vape products.

Rubio emphasized that the BOC's commitment to stopping smuggling remains strong, highlighting their dedication to a safer and regulated market for public health and integrity.
