Bird named FIBA Women's World Cup 2026 ambassador

WNBA legend Sue Bird was named as the global ambassador for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 in Berlin.

Bird, a four-time World Cup champion from Team USA, took over the role from Pau Gasol during a press conference at Mall of Asia Arena on Friday.

Sue Bird emphasized that women’s basketball is currently at an exciting and pivotal moment and expressed her commitment to helping grow the game.
