BIR appoints celebrities as tax advocates

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) appointed popular celebrities such as Vice Ganda, Julia Barretto, Kathryn Bernardo, Dingdong Dantes, and others to serve as tax advocates for its 2025 campaign.

On Tuesday, March 4, BIR Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr. hosted an award ceremony at a mall in Quezon City recognizing these celebrities for their exemplary tax compliance, marking the launch of the Regional Tax Campaign.

Vice Ganda, who was named the top celebrity taxpayer, emphasized the importance of taxpayers asking where their money goes and expressed gratitude to the BIR for the recognition.

The campaign's theme is 'Buwis na Tapat, Tagumpay Nating Lahat' (Honest Taxes, Shared Success), highlighting the significance of voluntary tax compliance in supporting national economic recovery.

Taxpayers are encouraged to file their 2024 Annual Income Tax Returns by April 15, 2025, through various channels including online platforms and authorized agent banks.
