Bill to set up regional specialty hospitals awaits Marcos' approval

A bill seeking to establish regional specialty centers in government hospitals across the Philippines has been ratified by both the Senate and House of Representatives and only needs President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s approval.

The bill aims to set up regional branches of national specialty hospitals like the Philippine Heart Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Lung Center of the Philippines, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, and Philippine Cancer Center in every region.

The DOH will establish these centers based on local disease burdens and special needs, ensuring they have expert personnel and appropriate equipment.
