RDRRMC activates emergency ops for Super Typhoon Pepito

The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) in Bicol has activated emergency operations centers and response clusters ahead of Super Typhoon Pepito, which entered the Philippine area of responsibility.

Claudio Yucot, OCD-5 Director and RDRRMC chairperson, instructed all regional government agencies to maintain their EOCs in 24/7 status and report updates daily.

Provincial governments in Albay, Catanduanes, and Sorsogon have suspended classes on Friday and work on November 15 (except for essential services) to prepare for the storm's impact.

The RDRRMC is providing food, non-food items, medicine, and water to highly affected provinces like Catanduanes and Camarines Norte through RoRo vessels and air transport with the assistance of the Philippine Air Force-Tactical Operation Group (PAF-TOG)-Bicol.

No casualties were recorded based on initial reports submitted by local authorities.
