PRO5 seizes PHP9M worth of drugs, arrests 144 in Aug

The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO5) seized PHP9 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 144 individuals during 138 anti-drug operations in August.

Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, PRO5 spokesperson, reported on Tuesday, Sept. 3 that they confiscated 1,328.45 grams of shabu (crystal meth) and 61.34 grams of marijuana.

In addition to enforcement efforts, PRO5 has intensified public education initiatives aimed at preventing drug abuse by raising awareness about the dangers of drug use and providing citizens with knowledge on resisting peer pressure.

PRO5 collaborates with local government units, schools, NGOs, rehabilitation centers, and social services to extend its reach and ensure a holistic approach to drug prevention and recovery.

Calubaquib emphasized that PRO5 remains committed to ensuring a safer, drug-free Bicol Region through innovative and comprehensive strategies.
