BI reports 8% rise in passenger arrivals Jan-June

On Monday, July 28, 2025, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported an 8 percent increase in passenger arrivals at ports of entry from January to June compared to the same period in 2024.

The BI processed over 7.84 million arrivals during the first half of 2025, up from 7.268 million in 2024.

Travelers from the US led with 753,544 arrivals, followed by South Korea (745,623), Japan (256,776), China (229,915), and Australia (188,082).

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado stated that this growth confirms the Philippines' status as a premier regional destination.

Viado added that the bureau will continue to work with other government agencies to enhance initiatives for further attracting visitors to the country.
