BI apprehends two foreign nationals wanted for criminal activities

Two foreign nationals wanted for alleged criminal activities have been apprehended by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Sunday, March 16.

Jordanian national Hussam Aldeen Mohd Kamiel Ghanem, 56, was arrested at the BI main office in Intramuros, Manila while trying to extend his tourist visa on March 11.

Interpol and Jordanian authorities requested Ghanem's arrest for issuing a worthless check.

Chinese national Peng Quanbin, 28, was detained at his residence in Barangay Carmona, Makati City the following day.

Peng is wanted by Chinese authorities for involvement in theft and cyber crimes, including hacking victims' computers resulting in losses exceeding $414,000.

Both individuals are being held at the BI's facility in Taguig City pending deportation.
