BI arrests Japanese fraud suspect linked to JP Dragon syndicate

On Wednesday, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced the arrest of a Japanese national named Daisuke Ikeno, 50, in Quezon City.

Ikeno is linked to the JP Dragon syndicate, which is known for theft and fraud targeting elderly victims in Japan.

The BI apprehended Ikeno along Quirino Highway on Tuesday based on information from Japanese authorities who issued an arrest warrant against him for theft.

Japanese law enforcement believes Ikeno is one of the surviving members of the JP Dragon syndicate, which steals ATM cards and banking information by posing as police officers during fake investigations.

Following his arrest, Ikeno was transferred to a BI facility in Taguig pending deportation proceedings.
