6 foreign nationals arrested in fraud, scam, and rape operations

Four Chinese nationals and one Taiwanese man wanted for crimes such as fraud, illegal business activities, and rape were arrested by law enforcement last month and are currently detained in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.

The arrests followed raids on August 22 in Parañaque City where the suspects were operating an alleged cryptocurrency investment and love scam hub posing as a licensed offshore gaming operator, and separate operations in Manila and Pasay.

In Parañaque, four Chinese fugitives aged 33, 32, 37, and 26 were apprehended, with one suspect wanted in Beijing for concealment of crime related to income and two others for fraud.

The Taiwanese man, who had overstayed in the Philippines for over 20 years, is being sought by TECO for rape filed before a court in Taiwan in 2005.

All six foreigners remain in a Bureau of Immigration holding facility pending their deportation.
