Australian drug suspect linked to Sinaloa cartel arrested in Cebu

An Australian national suspected of ties to the Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel was apprehended in San Remigio town, Cebu by the Bureau of Immigration-Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU).

The arrest followed coordination between US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Indonesian police, and local authorities.

Locating the suspect was challenging as he used multiple passports or IDs to evade capture.

He faces an outstanding warrant of arrest in Indonesia for intercepted drug deliveries involving more than five kilos of crystal meth hidden inside floor ceramics from Guadalajara, Mexico.

The BI now holds the suspect at their detention facility and is investigating local contacts, with backtracking activities underway to identify any associates.
