Police arrest fourth suspect in Lopez-Cohen murder case

Police have arrested four suspects in the murder case of beauty queen Geneva Lopez and her Israeli boyfriend Yitzhak Cohen from last year.

One additional suspect, Michael Angelo Guiang, was apprehended on a warrant for murder at 6 p.m. on March 19 in Barangay San Francisco, Santa Ignacia, Tarlac.

The three previously arrested suspects were identified as Jay, Rommel, and Jeffrey by Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief Police Major Gen. Nicolas Torre III.

Victims' bodies were discovered in a quarry in Capas on July 6, 2024, after they went missing while en route to discuss land issues with Guiang on June 21, 2024.

An autopsy revealed that Geneva and Yitzhak died from bullet wounds, and murder cases were filed against five suspects before the Department of Justice in Manila on August 15.

Police commend community cooperation for helping to solve the case and urge continued vigilance and reporting of criminal activities.
