BCDA wins court case on Poro Point land claim

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) celebrated a court ruling dismissing Shipside Inc.'s claim to land within the Poro Point Freeport Zone in La Union.

A regional trial court in San Fernando, La Union issued a decision rejecting Shipside Inc.'s petition for land registration over 543 square meters of land inside the zone.

The BCDA highlighted that this legal affirmation strengthens its mandate over the property and supports future development initiatives within the PPFZ.

With this ruling, the BCDA sees the Poro Point Freeport Zone as a critical milestone in unlocking Northern Luzon's potential for tourism, logistics, and investment.

Central to this vision is the planned revitalization of the San Fernando Seaport, which will generate jobs and support livelihoods.

BCDA oversees the PPFZ through its subsidiary, Poro Point Management Corporation.
