BCDA auctions lease for Mile Hi redevelopment

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is auctioning a lease and redevelopment contract for the 6,647-square-meter Mile Hi commercial center in Camp John Hay.

This project will transform Mile Hi into an eco-hostel with upscale retail and dining spaces as part of BCDA's broader efforts to revitalize Camp John Hay, which has been a key destination in Baguio for decades.

BCDA President Joshua Bingcang emphasized the potential of this redevelopment to attract private investment, boost tourism, and generate employment opportunities.

The winning bidder will enter a 25-year lease agreement to restore and upgrade Mile Hi into a sustainable commercial hub while preserving its historical essence.

Since BCDA regained control of Camp John Hay in January 2025, over P1 billion in new investments have poured in, signaling the area's revitalization.

The redevelopment will cater not only to tourists but also create opportunities for local businesses and workers.
