Barroca's late baskets seal Magnolia's win over San Miguel

Mark Barroca scored two crucial baskets in overtime to help Magnolia secure a narrow victory over San Miguel, winning 98-95 on Wednesday, April 16.

Despite missing his first eight shots, Barroca made key plays late in the game, including a long deuce with less than a minute left and another basket with 7.3 seconds remaining to give Magnolia a slim lead.

Magnolia's young players, Zav Lucero and Jerom Lastimosa, contributed significantly with Lucero scoring 24 points and seven rebounds and Lastimosa adding 21 points and five assists.

The veteran players also supported the team's efforts; Calvin Abueva recorded a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Paul Lee added 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

San Miguel had opportunities to extend the game but failed to capitalize, with Don Trollano missing a potential game-tying shot in overtime.

Magnolia's comeback from a double-digit deficit in the third quarter was crucial, as they remained undefeated at 3-0 while San Miguel fell to a 2-1 record.
