BARMM promotes backyard farming, converts forestlands for food security

BARMM officials are encouraging residents to protect the environment while addressing food security concerns during the pandemic.

Minister Abdulraof Macacua of BARMM's Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy (MENRE) emphasized the importance of preserving nature and promoting backyard farming.

The 'Kayod sa Bangsamoro' program aims to provide survival gardens for food sustainability, especially in lockdown areas.

BARMM is also converting forestlands into agricultural areas to ensure long-term food security as per Republic Act 11469.
