Roque not under House probe, lawmakers question net worth

Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque is not under investigation by the House of Representatives quad-committee but lawmakers want to verify if his companies are linked to an illegal Philippine offshore gaming operator (Pogo) hub.

Surigao del Norte 2nd District Rep. Robert Ace Barbers urged Roque to explain the rapid increase in his net worth from P125,000 in 2016 to P125 million in 2018 and questioned its source.

Barbers highlighted that Roque's wealth boom was believed to have possibly come from POGO operations, despite Roque arguing that there is no relation between his net worth increase and POGO.

The quad-committee cited Roque for contempt twice, issued an arrest order, and the Philippine National Police (PNP) is tracking him down.

Roque maintains he is not a fugitive of law and will not allow himself to be arrested until the Supreme Court rules on the matter.
