House panel recommends deeper probe into Paolo Duterte's alleged drug ties

The House of Representatives' quad committee has recommended a deeper investigation into alleged drug ties involving Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte and his allies.

Quad committee co-chair Ace Barbers stated that further inquiry should be conducted against individuals named by resource persons Jimmy Guban and Mark Taguba, including Paolo Duterte and several other associates.

In response to the recommendation, Duterte expressed willingness to undergo an impartial investigation and said he has nothing to hide, welcoming any probe based on credible evidence.

Barbers agreed with Duterte's call for verifying the names listed in the narco list created during his father's administration to ensure they were not included for political reasons.

The quad committee recommended that the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) validate and verify all information related to the drug lists, including those submitted by Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.

Along with this, Duterte said Congress should investigate individuals listed in the PDEA watchlist during his father's administration, emphasizing the need for impartial and credible investigations.
