Baguio, Benguet urge DPWH to fix deteriorating Kennon Road

Baguio City and Benguet officials are urging the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to develop short- and long-term solutions for Kennon Road's deteriorating condition.

Benguet Representative Eric Yap has requested immediate action from the DPWH, emphasizing the need for sustainable plans to keep the vital roadway safe and operational.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong of Baguio City highlighted the urgency of a serious dialogue with high-ranking DPWH officials to determine necessary improvements.

Magalong also proposed auditing both natural factors like soil erosion and potential human errors such as design deficiencies and construction lapses.

The mayor suggested privatizing Kennon Road for better management, advocating for a thorough review that could lead to an improved master plan.
