Bacolod, Talisay distribute relief to more than 2,400 flood-affected families

Local government units in Bacolod City and Talisay City distributed relief assistance to over 2,400 families affected by overnight torrential rains and resulting floods on Saturday.

In Bacolod City, 301 families were evacuated across seven barangays, with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office providing essential items such as food, clothing, and toiletries.

Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya stated that relief assistance is being provided to the affected evacuees, while the Department of Social Welfare and Development committed additional support.

In Talisay City, approximately 2,142 families in ten barangays were impacted by floods, with Mayor Rowena Lizares leading the distribution of relief goods and medical supplies for leptospirosis prevention.
