Bacolod signs PHP2.1B agreement for Super City Project

The Bacolod City government signed a PHP2.1-billion, 10-year Build-Transfer-Maintain agreement with High Data Infra Inc. on Monday to develop the Bacolod Super City Project.

Mayor Alfredo Benitez and Danny Fernandez from High Data Infra Inc. inked the deal at the Bacolod City Government Center, emphasizing the city's commitment to modernizing public services and infrastructure.

The project includes a centralized command center for traffic, disaster, and crime monitoring, intelligent streetlamp poles with video surveillance, and an e-governance system to improve service delivery.

A comprehensive geographic information system (GIS) using ArcGIS software will also be developed to enhance operational efficiency within local government departments.

Implementation of the e-gov component begins this year, while the centralized command center is expected to be fully functional in two years. All infrastructure and e-gov components are set for full functionality by the sixth year with continuous maintenance.

Mayor Benitez secured an exemption from the Commission on Elections to allow the project to proceed during election season, overcoming the prohibition of public fund disbursement within 45 days before a regular election.
