Bacolod mayor praises workers for helping woman deliver baby

Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Benitez praised two city employees, Milo Montelibano and Dondon Parandas, for assisting a woman giving birth near his parking slot at the Bacolod City Government Center on Monday.

Michelle Bolangaita, 34, from Barangay Handumanan, safely delivered her fifth child with assistance from the city workers; both mother and baby are in good health.

Milo Montelibano initially alerted Dondon Parandas when he noticed Bolangaita's distress while riding a tricycle near the government center, and she was due to give birth on May 13.

Dondon Parandas, who previously helped deliver three other babies during emergencies, provided crucial support to Bolangaita until she was safely transferred to the City Health Office.

Mayor Benitez expressed his joy by offering to be the godfather of the newborn girl named Albea Bless after him and shared a photo on social media.

The incident underscores the city government's commitment to public service, as highlighted by Mayor Benitez in his statement.
