Bacolod steps up COVID-19 testing, logs 20% positivity rate

Bacolod City has increased its coronavirus testing, focusing on high-risk individuals and sectors.

The city government's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) conducted surveillance tests in various areas, including the Bacolod City Police Office where some officers tested positive.

As of April 23, there was a 20% positivity rate among 441 individuals tested.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia ordered immediate isolation for those who test positive to prevent further spread.

City Administrator Em Ang emphasized the importance of avoiding social gatherings and dining out with non-household members to curb infection.
