Bacolod Mayor unveils PHP12.5M track athletes' dorm

The track and field athletes of Romanito P. Maravilla Sr. National High School in Bacolod City received a PHP12.5-million dormitory on Monday, March 24.

Mayor Albee Benitez led the unveiling of the one-story facility that accommodates 32 athletes - 16 boys and 16 girls - each with individual beds and cabinets.

The new facility includes amenities such as dining and cooking areas, dedicated comfort rooms, an office, and a stock room.

In his message, Benitez emphasized the importance of providing good facilities to athletes to excel in sports and urged them to continue their hard work.

Gladys Gerona, school principal, noted that the dormitory is not just a place for rest but also a sanctuary fostering focus, growth, and community, supporting athletes' excellence both on and off the field.
