Ayala Group pays P9.86B taxes ahead of deadline

The Ayala Group paid P9.86 billion in taxes ahead of the June 14 deadline to support the government's efforts against the coronavirus pandemic.

The payment was made by the group and its subsidiaries, including AC Energy, Ayala Corp., Ayala Land Inc., Bank of the Philippine Islands, Globe Telecom Inc., and Manila Water Corp.

President Rodrigo Duterte had previously apologized for any misunderstanding regarding the company’s assistance during the pandemic, to which the Zobel de Ayala brothers expressed gratitude.
