Ateneo secures Final 4 spot in 2-2 draw with DLSU

De La Salle University and Ateneo de Manila University faced off in a crucial football match on Thursday with the last spot in the UAAP Season 86 men's Final 4 up for grabs.

Ateneo secured their place in the semifinals after a hard-fought 2-2 draw against De La Salle, finishing with 18 points and advancing to face top-seed Far Eastern University on Thursday.

Kofi Agyei scored both of Ateneo's goals and now has nine goals this season, while De La Salle had opportunities but ultimately fell short despite a strong performance by captain Mohammad Almohjili who scored in the 74th minute.

Ateneo coach JP Merida praised both teams for their determination, noting that neither side gave up until the final whistle, while De La Salle missed out on advancing to the Final Four for the first time since Season 79.
