DOH: Sputnik V for LGUs with proper storage

The Department of Health (DOH) announced on Saturday that Sputnik V vaccines, expected to arrive next week, will only be distributed to local governments with the necessary storage facilities.

Unlike other vaccines like Sinovac and AstraZeneca which can be stored at 2-8 degrees Celsius, Sputnik V requires a temperature not exceeding -18 degrees Celsius in a dark place.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that due to these stringent requirements, only certain local governments with the appropriate storage facilities will initially receive the Sputnik V vaccines.
