Arca wins rapid, blitz gold; advances to Asian Youth Championships

FIDE Master Christian Gian Karlo Arca dominated the Under-18 open division in the National Age Group Chess Championships, securing gold medals in both rapid and blitz sections after finishing second in the standard event.

Despite missing out on a title in the standard section behind Ruelle Canino, Arca's strong performance earned him a place at the upcoming Asian Youth Chess Championships in Bangkok from November 20 to 30.

Jersey Marticio also excelled by winning both the girls' U12 rapid and blitz categories, adding to her silver medal in standard play.

The championships were supported by various organizations including Mayor Ben Patron, FPJ Panday Bayanihan Party-list Rep. Mark Lester Patron, the Philippine Sports Commission, and the National Chess Federation of the Philippines.
