Apollo Quiboloy transferred back to jail after pneumonia

Apollo Quiboloy, founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), was transferred back to Pasig City Jail on February 12 following weeks of hospitalization for pneumonia.

Quiboloy had been treated in Rizal Medical Center, The Medical City in Ortigas, and Pasig City General Hospital (PCGH) where he was diagnosed with moderate-risk community-acquired pneumonia and stage 2 hypertension.

The court's decision to return Quiboloy to jail is contingent upon him not having a medical condition requiring immediate specialized attention, and the BJMP facility in Pasig City has adequate medical facilities if needed.

On February 7, while confined at PCGH, the court granted Quiboloy permission to record videos for his senatorial campaign purposes amid questions raised by the prosecution regarding his fitness to serve as a candidate.

Currently, Quiboloy faces non-bailable charges of qualified human trafficking and child abuse under Philippine laws.
