Año submits 3 names for next PNP chief

Three names have been submitted to President Rodrigo Duterte for consideration as the next Philippine National Police (PNP) chief.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año refused to disclose the identities or ranks of the candidates, citing potential speculation and noting it is a collegiate decision by the National Police Commission.

Año also stated that he cannot confirm whether PNP Chief General Camilo Cascolan's term will be extended beyond his retirement date on November 10 due to the ongoing pandemic.
