Angara sees P5-T 2021 nat'l budget as stimulus

Senator Juan Edgardo M. Angara expects the 2021 national budget to reach around P5 trillion as a stimulus package for the economy hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Angara, who chairs the Senate Committee on Finance, said about one-third of the budget would be allocated for debt servicing, with the remaining P3.3 trillion potentially used for new items in the stimulus package.

He noted that non-personnel expenditures and infrastructure spending could also contribute to economic recovery efforts.
