Amro: China’s COVID-19 outbreak to slow Asean+3 GDP

The Asean+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) expects the coronavirus outbreak in China to impact the GDP growth of the Asean+3 region by reducing it by 0.2 percentage points.

China's slowdown is likely to cause a sharp decline in outbound travel and tourism, affecting regional economies due to fears of contracting the disease.

AMRO also forecasts a decrease in China’s imports as manufacturing output is disrupted and domestic demand is affected.
