Alex Eala Thanks Fans for Miami Open Run, Despite Semifinal Loss and Defeating Top Players

Filipino tennis player Alex Eala expressed gratitude for her experience at the Miami Open despite losing in the semifinals to Jessica Pegula.

Eala described her run as a dream and acknowledged feeling disappointed after falling short of winning the title, but remained gracious during the post-match interview.

Throughout the tournament, she defeated several high-ranking players including Grand Slam champions Jelena Ostapenko, Madison Keys, and Iga Swiatek without dropping a set.

Despite the loss to world No. 4 Pegula, Eala emphasized that she gave everything she had during the match and received standing ovations from fans for her performance.

Eala is set to earn prize money amounting to USD 332,160 and will likely elevate into the top 100 of the women's world rankings when new standings are released on March 31.
