Alex Calleja releases comedy special 'Tamang Panahon' on Netflix

Filipino stand-up comedian Alex Calleja released his latest comedy special titled 'Tamang Panahon' on Netflix on February 7.

'Tamang Panahon' marks a significant milestone in Calleja's nearly two-decade-long career, aiming to broaden the reach of Filipino stand-up comedy. Calleja noted that some Asian audiences do not have any problems understanding his jokes as long as they get its gist.

The special was filmed during Calleja's birthday in October and submitted for review by Netflix a month later. He makes an effort to adjust to different audiences when performing abroad, researching the place so he can deliver on-the-spot jokes.

Calleja hopes that Filipino stand-up comedians will have bigger platforms both at home and internationally, encouraging more recognition of bar shows and opportunities to perform abroad.
