AirAsia increases Manila-Taipei flights from 14 to 17 weekly

AirAsia Philippines increased its flight frequency between Manila and Taipei from 14 to 17 weekly flights starting this month, in response to growing demand.

From January to June 2025, the airline transported over 70,000 passengers to Taipei, making it one of the top-performing international destinations for AirAsia.

The extension of visa-free entry for Filipino travelers in Taiwan until July 31, 2026, is expected to further boost passenger numbers during this period.

AirAsia Philippines President and CEO Suresh Bangah stated that the additional flights will cater to increased demand during the peak travel season from September through February.

The airline's Taipei route has an average load factor of 85 percent, underscoring the consistent interest of travelers in this destination.

AirAsia is also considering launching new hubs outside Metro Manila with potential locations including Bohol, Clark, and Cebu to meet rising demand.
