AirAsia cancels flights due to Mount Kanlaon eruption

AirAsia canceled several domestic flights on Tuesday due to a moderately explosive eruption at Mount Kanlaon.

The affected routes include Manila to Bacolod and Iloilo, with AirAsia adjusting schedules proactively for passenger safety.

Passengers can rebook their tickets within 30 days without additional cost or opt for a full refund, while retaining the flight value in their BIG Member account for future travel valid within two years.

Phivolcs reported that an eruption at Kanlaon's summit crater generated a greyish plume rising approximately 4.5 kilometers and drifting southwestward.

Alert Level 3 remains in effect over Mount Kanlaon, indicating ongoing magmatic unrest with communities within a 6-km radius advised to remain evacuated.
