NUP President Barzaga, Rep Uy endorse VP Robredo for presidency

National Unity Party (NUP) President Elpidio Barzaga and Misamis Oriental Representative Juliet Uy have endorsed Vice President Leni Robredo for president despite their party's initial backing of Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Barzaga cited Robredo's extensive experience in government, her deep understanding of marginalized communities' issues, and her track record as reasons for his endorsement during a campaign rally on Saturday, March 26.

The number of local leaders supporting Robredo is growing, with governors from Iloilo, Negros Occidental, Bulacan, Eastern Samar, and Davao del Norte also backing the vice president's presidential bid.

Robredo's spokesman, Ibarra Gutierrez, stated that these endorsements are further proof of the momentum her candidacy has gained in the remaining 42 days until election day.

The vice president emphasized during a campaign stop that local officials' support is crucial as it makes it easier to gain support from other local leaders and volunteers.
