AFP investigates Duterte rep's security detail

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is investigating the identities of its personnel providing security to Davao City Representative Paolo Duterte following a viral video.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Rommel Marbil identified two cops and two soldiers in the footage, noting that the police officers were unauthorized and moonlighting.

Marbil stated that the two police officers seen in the video will be discharged from service for allegedly moonlighting for Duterte.

The AFP confirmed it is now validating the identities of its personnel assigned to Duterte's security detail and maintaining close coordination with the PNP and other agencies.

A businessman filed a complaint against Duterte before the Department of Justice over an incident on February 23, but Duterte has remained silent regarding the matter.

In response to the video, the AFP is conducting an internal inquiry to verify the identities of those providing security for Duterte during the election period.
