AFP, US Marines conduct joint amphibious landing, close-quarters combat training

On Friday, May 2, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) conducted an amphibious landing rehearsal near Brooke's Point, Palawan as part of maritime key terrain security operations.

The exercise culminated in a large-scale amphibious landing drill on Sunday in Balabac town, focusing on joint forcible entry and beachhead establishment.

Philippine Marines also trained US Marine Corps personnel in Basco, Batanes, focusing on the Filipino martial art Pekiti-Tirsia Kali to enhance close-quarters combat skills.

The training included lectures and hands-on drills to improve discipline and operational readiness for both forces.

Both Philippine and US military units conducted a joint 81mm mortar gun drill in Basco to boost tactical proficiency and combat coordination.
