ADB appoints Andrew Jeffries as new country director

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) appointed Andrew Jeffries as the new country director for the Philippines, effective August 18, 2025.

Jeffries will succeed Pavit Ramachandran and oversee ADB operations in the Philippines, including managing relationships with the government, private sector, and development partners, while implementing the Country Partnership Strategy 2024-2029.

He emphasized addressing critical economic challenges such as infrastructure development, social protection, and climate change risks to ensure inclusive growth and upper-middle-income status for the country.

Jeffries stated that his immediate priority is to support the Philippine government's development priorities and mobilize private capital and expertise through ADB assistance.

With over 34 years of professional experience, including more than 18 years with ADB, Jeffries brings extensive knowledge in finance and energy sectors, having held senior roles at Fortis Capital Corp. and GE Capital.
