Ace Durano appointed Cebu administrator by Gov-elect Pam Baricuatro

Former Tourism Secretary Ace Durano has been appointed by Governor-elect Pam Baricuatro as the administrator of Cebu province on Tuesday, July 1, marking his return to politics.

Durano, who previously retired from active political life but was inspired by Baricuatro's vision for a better Cebu, will help implement her programs during their first 100 days in office.

Baricuatro also appointed Atty. Guiller Ceniza as head of the Provincial Legal Office, Ruben Licera for Public Information, Rowena Montecillo for Tourism, Paolo Uy as Chief of Staff, and Dennis Francis Pastor as Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Head.

On her first day in office, Baricuatro signed 12 executive orders to release funds for medical purposes, promote transparency, address lot issues, create a people's action center, and establish an investment and promotions division.

Durano’s appointment signals the shifting power dynamics between political clans in Cebu as he takes on responsibilities under Section 480 (b) of the Local Government Code to support administrative reforms and disaster management.
