Aboitiz InfraCapital gets OPS for Iloilo water project

Aboitiz InfraCapital has received Original Proponent Status (OPS) for its proposal to provide Iloilo with an additional 86 million liters of bulk water per day.

Cosette Canilao, Aboitiz InfraCapital's president and CEO, expressed honor at the city's trust and commitment to working closely with partners to ensure a future-ready water system for all residents.

During a ceremony at Iloilo City Hall on May 15, Aboitiz InfraCapital received the OPS, marking a significant step in enhancing the city's water security and infrastructure resilience.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas emphasized the need for additional water due to rapid economic growth, highlighting the city's 10.5 percent GDP increase in 2023.

Aboitiz InfraCapital will now face the Swiss challenge stage where other rivals can submit competitive proposals; however, AIC retains a strong position to win the project given its OPS status.
