Abalos eyes flexible approach to PNP's three-strike policy

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. called for a more flexible approach to the PNP's current three-strike policy for relieving erring police commanders.

Abalos stated that the chief PNP should have the discretion to remove commanders immediately if they are found remiss in their duties or if there are serious lapses, without waiting for three instances.

He emphasized this during a press briefing at Camp Crame, Quezon City, as part of reviewing and updating the doctrine of command responsibility within the PNP.
