93% of Filipinos want VP Sara to address impeach. charges

A Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey commissioned by the Stratbase Group indicates that 93 percent of Filipinos believe Vice President Sara Duterte should prioritize addressing impeachment charges and clearing her name regarding corruption allegations.

The survey, conducted from May 2 to 6 with 1,800 registered voters as respondents, also found strong support for Duterte focusing on implementing her platforms (86%), continuing her duties without politicizing (81%), and avoiding criticism of the government (74%).

Among those who believe Duterte should prioritize national needs, 74% said she 'definitely should' while 19% think she 'probably should'. Among those who believe she should address impeachment charges, 68% said she 'definitely should' while 20% said she 'probably should'.

Stratbase Group president Dindo Manhit emphasized that prominent leaders like Duterte should respond to public calls for transparency and accountability.

The survey also highlighted Filipinos' expectations for better healthcare access, food security, agricultural development, infrastructure, climate resilience, national security, and inflation management.
