Bontoc tests find 32 new cases; 83 close contacts also positive

Community testing in Bontoc, Mountain Province found 32 locals who were positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to testing czar Vince Dizon.

The positivity rate was 1.87 percent out of the 1,709 people tested.

On Monday, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire reported that 83 close contacts in Bontoc and six in La Trinidad, Benguet had tested positive for COVID-19.

Eight samples from Bontoc and two from La Trinidad will undergo sequencing to detect the possible UK variant.
