Over 410K OFWs return home due to pandemic

More than 410,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have returned home due to the global economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Last week alone, over 8,000 OFWs were repatriated, bringing the total number of cleared repatriates to 410,211 as of January 16.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) expects around 60,000 to 80,000 more OFWs to be repatriated this year based on data from its labor offices worldwide.
