Marcos Jr.'s approval drops to 36%, Duterte gains to 18%
According to a recent Tugon ng Masa (TNM) survey by OCTA Research, 36% of adult Filipinos support President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s administration, while only 18% are pro-Duterte.
The survey, conducted from January 25 to 31, 2025, also found that 26% of respondents supported neither Marcos nor Duterte, and 8% supported the opposition led by former vice president Leni Robredo and her party.
Notable increases in pro-Marcos support were observed across major areas such as Balance Luzon (47%) and Class ABC respondents (42%), while significant declines occurred among Class D (36%) and Mindanao (9%).
OCTA Research noted that regions like the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Negros Island Region showed strong pro-Marcos support ranging from 50% to 78%. In contrast, support remains notably lower in Metro Manila (39%) and Central Luzon (35%).
The survey data indicates that Marcos's support has dropped by 2 points since the previous August 2024 report, while Duterte's support increased by 3 points.
OCTA Research clarified that this is their first quarter 2025 survey and there was no fourth quarter survey on the same topic last year.
