2AFWR evacuates thousands in Bulacan flood

In response to flooding that submerged parts of Bulacan, the 2nd Air Force Wing Reserve (2AFWR) launched a major relief mission on Thursday, July 24, evacuating thousands of displaced families.

Over 7,500 individuals from Calumpit and Hagonoy were evacuated using military trucks and are now sheltered in designated evacuation centers such as Calumpit National High School.

The operation was spearheaded by Lt. Col. Mikee Romero, who helped evacuate 1,500 families from Calumpit and 300 families from Hagonoy, with full-scale rescue efforts ongoing in Barangays San Juan and San Isidro.

Food and basic necessities were distributed to evacuees, including rice, canned goods, instant noodles, and coffee, while medical supplies are still urgently needed.

Lt. Col. Mikee Romero emphasized the ongoing nature of the mission, highlighting the need for sustained relief delivery in critical areas affected by flooding.

Other provinces in Central Luzon and Calabarzon have also been severely impacted, prompting continued deployments and humanitarian assistance from various agencies.
