26 Filipinos repatriated from Cambodia, DFA warns of dubious job scams

Twenty-six Filipinos were repatriated from Oddar Meanchey Province in Cambodia on Wednesday, April 16, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA emphasized the importance of heeding advisories about dubious overseas job opportunities and thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for its assistance.

Upon request by the concerned Filipinos, the Philippine Embassy made official representations with the Cambodian government for their release from a company in Samraong Municipality.

Government agencies such as DFA, DMW, OWWA, and IACAT were present at the airport to provide support and assistance to the returning nationals.

In an advisory issued on April 7, the embassy warned about social media ads offering customer service or chat support jobs that may involve love scams or fake investment schemes.

The Embassy highlighted the effective coordination between Philippine and Cambodian authorities as a testament to their long-standing friendly ties.
